HOLIDAY JOURNAL

Last full day here. Went to the Boot Inn last night for dinner. Food was excellent. Wings for starter and we both had curry. This afternoon we did our usual loop to Burnmoor tarn. Weather was hazy but warm. It’s now pissing down! Off to Thurlmere tomorrow.

Spent the weekend doing the Lakesman h Tri (5hr36) Weather was surprising good and we had a great weekend. Even managed to eat in the Dog and gun. Which was average. Travelled to Boot on Monday. Tuesday was a glorious day and we hiked Harter Fell coming back by Hardnott Pass and the Roman fort. Ate in the Woolpack last night. Tatty pot was excellent. This morning I ran Illgill Head / Whin Rigg. About 11 miles. Weather has been crap and we have sat around most of the day apart from a stroll through Howes wood.  Going to Boot Inn tonight.

Stayed four nights at a small site with an airfield. Branscombe. Beautiful area. Fantastic views with a brutal up and down landscape. Weather was good and we explored a bit and basically ate drank and played on beach.
